I'm already seeing pages load differently (better). I used to get weird lines of html for a second or so before the page loaded (especially at any BBC.com page)  (Y)

Context menu still misbehaves though. It's obvious that isn't the context menu I should be getting.

Oh, I have the Microsoft Wireless Keyboard 3000 v2.0 with the proper drivers installed (came through Windows Update).

Which addons you have, might be some using chrome.contextmenu api wrongly, which could be triggering it. Try disabling them.

These are the latest drivers: http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/en-us/d/wireless-keyboard-3000v2.0

Already had that version installed, and extensions are something I don't chop and change.. Will try disabling one by one and see the results though.. starting with Firebug :P

Looks like Chrome 39 for Windows/Mac/Linux isn't quite ready yet for the stable channel as they've released another beta build.

my guess is they'll release Chrome 39 to the stable channel friday

DirectWrite rendering enabled in Chrome UI now:

Jyjj9Uk.png

Enable DirectWrite for font metrics and font rendering in Chrome UI on Windows by default.

We have a switch --disable-directwrite-for-ui to switch back to GDI.

I had Chrome v40 installed but there are major issues with CKEditor v4.x which we use in our CMS meaning I had to downgrade to the stable channel. It is a javascript related bug, so I can't use it right now :(

 I use Chromium 307862 chromium-browser-continuous

I use chromium-browser-snapshots build 307877. 32-bit Chromium builds.

Nice thing that if addon or extension extends their permission, Chromium disable them automatically, I don't know whether its new or not but great call.

this landed a while ago, the win32k lockdown flag, interesting read for the security interested people: https://codereview.chromium.org/669623005/

Enables or disables the Win32K process mitigation policy for renderer processes which prevents them from invoking user32 and gdi32 system calls which enter the kernel. This is only supported on Windows 8 and beyond. ?
