Done in 3dsmax, 6.6 million polygons, over 2500 objects. I started with a cube and extruded surfaces, didnt attach/detach anything, but I just kept cloning them over and over. Rendered it at 3200x2400, and while 3dsmax and my poor system were choking, it only took 13 minutes to render, and thats with shadows too. I did one render with solids at 1600x1200 earlier, then another with wireframe at double res, then put the two together in photoshop. Kinda meant as a sequel to this render I did a while back, but it was really just for fun if anything. Hope ppl like it! :)

Thanks so far, its not too hard in Max, just make a box with a few segments, and start extruding until you happen across a cool object, then clone :)

Heres another one I finished rendering a few minutes ago and worked in PS.
