Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop\WindowMetrics]

"BorderWidth"="-1"

"PaddedBorderWidth"="-1"

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The defaults are -15 and -60 respectively.

Mines are set to -1 for each, giving me a very thin border, which I like very much.

Just goes to show that we should be able to tweak much of the UI through the registry etc, maybe toss in a hacked msstyle file and take it to the next level. Someone should make a tweakUI tool for Win8 now.

Nice tweak, shame it can't go any thinner though.

What if you set it to 0? Or does it take something like -0.5?

You can also change the font system-wide with a clever registry hack ( as seen in my SS here ) -- unfortunately, it seems as if visually modifying Win8 is going to take a lot more work than any previous Win OS
