As you can see both Windows Live Photo Gallery 2009 and Windows Live Photo Gallery 2008 look exactly like Windows Photo Gallery on Windows Vista.

That is one of the things that attracts people like me to use WLE 2009 version and not 2011 or 2012 version. Because as you know both WLE 2011 and 2012 version have the Ribbon. Which I and a lot of people don't like.

Both Windows Live Photo Gallery 2009 and Windows Live Photo Gallery 2008 are clones of Windows Photo Gallery, methinks. Andrea Borman.

I found nothing wrong with WLE 2011 (other than Messenger getting even more bloated, but that has been a trend for years now). The ribbon interface was great in Live Mail, actually.

Thread cleaned yet again

Please remember, if you're not going to be polite, don't post.

Thank you

Not to mean any disrespect, but with the direction this thread is going, I think you should lock this one up. Instead of discussing the 2012 version, this is turning into the same thread that was locked a couple of days ago. Just a suggestion, it is still your call.

Seconded. This thread is going to cause nothing but further trouble for all involved.

Same problem here. I found Windows Live Messenger 2011 would open up full screen and that you could not see your offline contacts. And it would crash when I made video calls or when someone was calling me.

From what I remember I think you could also log into your Facebook and My Space account on Messenger 2011,in the Beta version. And there is also the option to send your contacts an offline video message. And contacts who were on Messenger 209 could play video messages sent from 2011 version.

But somehow Messenger 2011 and 2012 version does not have that homely look of Messenger 2009 version. So WLE 2011 and 2012 is just not the same as the old version of WLE. And I can see why a lot of people don't want to upgrade to it.

And no, I don't like the Ribbon in Windows Live Mail 2011 and 2012 version either. And I don't like the Ribbon in Windows Live Photo Gallery 2011 and 2012 version.

So it seems that WLE 2009 version is the only right version to install. Andrea Borman.

Good idea :) You're right, unfortunately.

It is clear that the posts in this thread will not get any better. It has been cleaned multiple times and we've asked people to post in a polite manner more than once. Yet the posts remain of the same tone.

No matter how frustrating certain posts can be to read, everyone must post in a polite manner at all times here.

The majority of this thread has been either people attacking a certain individual or people demonstrating their anger/annoyance at misleading statements (e.g. "no one will upgrade"). It is clear that this is all this thread will ever be, and the majority of posts will not be on topic.
