You mean the start page, with the metro apps/tiles?

I dont think you can take screenshots of it? (Well prt screen doesnt work but maybe something else would)

Mine isnt exciting so I wont post it, only had Win8 for 2 days.

I searched in the forums and I found out that such thread didn't exist. With the new Windows 8 Start menu, we can customize our OS more, imho.

The similar thread we had for Windows 8 prior to the release has already been locked. It makes sense, actually, to put this screenshots on the monthly 'Show your Desktop' threads.

Win+PrintScreen will do the trick.

Sure you can, there's already a bunch of threads with various start screen examples in it. This one for example. http://www.neowin.ne...creenshots-here (which later gets closed and you're redirected to the screenshot of the month threads.) I smell an impending thread lock.

Still messing with mine, creating new tiles for non-Metro programs, resource editing, all that stuff, probably be a while until I'm happy with it and leave it alone, never mind waiting for "the perfect theme" to be created by somebody, not a fan of the default desktop theme. Recycling a snippet.

Start8 for the start menu? but what about the transparency too?

Does Start8 also has an option for adding transparency?

sorry to bother you and thanks for the reply!

Yes it does. It can enable/disable transparency not just on the start menu but on the taskbar as well. It's $5 but I think it's the best out there for those looking to put back the start menu.

Very nice!

I just googled it and it seems that it also alows you to boot directly to desktop.

Bypassing metro if i understood correctly.

That's exactlly what i wanted, i think i'm gonna try it!

Thanks!

Seriously... Stardock, while only asking for $5, they must be doing the perfect business with the huge necessity of a ver well made Start Menu, of course, it's worth of mention also alternatives like Classic Shell, completely free.
