What was the last movie you watched? (2013 Edition)

3/5 - Not bad, the realism aspect of it was good, little things like actually using Google/Youtube helped definately. I enjoyed it!

I would have like it more if it wasn't in a seaside setting. Aside from Jaws & Leviathan, I'm not big on water terror. I thought the acting was excellent throughout.

World War Z (2013)

3/5

Not a terrible movie. But sadly the subject of it has been beaten to death lately. World War Z sadly brings nothing new to the table.

The Wolverine (2013)

3/5

It's okay i guess. But i did not really learn anything new about Wolverine except that he went to japan and felt in love with a beauty there. The love story was really forced. Some action sequences were nice notably the a-bomb and ninjas.

Anna Karenina (2012)

3.5/5

Style over substance. Pretencious i guess. Did not really follow the book closely enough for me. Did not really feel russian all that much sadly. Still a visual feast and well worth watching despite it's many flaws.

Pacific Rim - 8/10. Much better than expected. Definitely not another Transformers. Gotta love Ron Perlman as Hannibal Chau! My man!

Side Effects - 7/10 - It was pretty damn good. I didn't go into it expecting much. One of the scenes in it was actually fairly troubling for me to watch. Which is odd, cause generally that wouldn't affect me one bit.

Oblivion - 7/10 - Better than I expected, I have a issue with the plot that I can't mention without spoiling it. But unless I missed something it's a terrible plot-hole.

Elysium (2013)

3.75/5

Not as good as District 9 but still better than your average sci-fi flick. Little bit too much dramatization for my taste and not enough characters development for us to care all that much about them. Movie could have been 15 to 20 minutes longer with a longer introduction (the stupid flashbacks could have been cut this way too). Still Neill Blomkamp is the new Paul Verhoeven imo.
