Nikon D90, 28mm f1.8 @ f1.8 and 6-30 seconds. I went out to an uninhabited area in the SF Bay area (click the image to view the map on flickr for the exact location) that is about as dark as you can get in the area.

I was shooting for meteors, but got this instead. I guess I'm happy with it, though!

Where was his again? I can't see the location on Flickr.

Tequila and ranch dressing?!?!

Yeah ! :p ranch out of place! Corralejo FTW :p

I'm all for watermarks! I've seen some pretty awesome watermarks on dpreview that aren't obtrusive and add something to the image! It was just a comment, sheesh!

This morning i saw this light and thought it looked cool, so i took a picture

Indeed it does look creepy!

I like the eeriness of that^ :)

Floor flushing dappers eh!?

Nice Fog!!! The bush to the left kinda distracts a bit.

I added the location a few days ago; I had forgotten :(

It's ~5 miles east of Mt. Diablo in the SF Bay area. You can see the exact location on the flickr page now.

It's the same spot I've been going to for 5+ years now.

Here's one of my favs i took last year, i dont think its too bad for a newbie, though think it wouldve been better if the nose was a bit more in focus

Puppeh love!!!! Like humans, what we try to get in focus is the eyes, not the nose, but then again, it's whatever your shooting for...

Little bit more night photography. Went to Cannock chase and did some Star photography and painting a car and bridge with torches. (Just imagine the corsa is a Zonda or something yeah? :p)

Loving this one! Though should've spot healed the torch just under the head light! Would you mind sharing what type of flashlight/torches you used and how exactly you lit the car?

Ps. kudos on making the watermark much smaller and now, even adds something to teh photo.

Can't remember If I did touch this one up? Might have lol, The torches we used were basic ones running off of AA batteries, mine cost me around ?7. Admittedly my mates had quite a good range but with two of us, 30 second exposure we got to work painting the car as such. On this photo in particular he concentrated on the car as a whole and I highlighted the wheels about 10 seconds on each then went over the outline of the car. Came out nicely by the time we decided to add the bridge(s) (we did 3 different bridges but for the first two I forgot to adjust the focus xD) into the shots we had it down to a tee.

And thanks on the watermark, Admittedly it was a little large on the light trail ones but I was proud of them :p lol

One of my first photos that I took with my new Canon 480EX II flash- my first external flash. So far, I love it- having the option to bounce off of the ceiling is very handy.

Is there really that much difference in 4mm...?

I put my 17-50mm on and zoomed between the two and couldn't tell a difference and decided that 2/3 of a stop wasn't worth ~$1500 to me at this time.

I can see what you were going for there Blank, I decided to give it a little edit to see what I can do. What you can see from your image is that the foreground is underexposed, while the back is overexposed, a little curves editing can change that. Also maybe changing the photo from landscape to portrait, so the tracks effect works better.

I gave it a little go, made it BW because I figured it works better. I didn't have much time (The trees are a little sharp) but I think it turned out fairly well :) Hope you don't mind (I'll take it down if you wish)

The closest part of the foreground is rather uninteresting. I think a horizontal crop would be best.

Chase, I like that you took the time offer an edit for discussion!

.

I actually like the tracks more than the background :p it's what shouldn't be there if you ask me, so that makes it interesting :p
