Shot some of my friends' pastry with my new lens yesterday. Turned out pretty good after some Lightrooming. Still experimenting a lot.

Went down to the Outer Banks in North Carolina.  Was good, except for the literally blistering sunburn!

 

 

Coming out of Northfolk this plane flew a few hundred feet above the road,  awhile later it or another one exactly like it flew into Newport News Airport.  I almost missed it.  

 

 

jennette's pier,  I wish I could have went here during the day time too. 

 

Lot's of these Jellies in the water, however they can't sting.   However there were some much bigger ones floating around that could. 

 

My long exposure of the beach and sky didn't turn out as I hoped.   Next time I'll have to go somewhere with alot lower light.

On the beach? People had flashlights looking for crabs. I forget which kind. Once I get access to them (on my phone currently) ill post the shutter and aperture info.

I would really like to try and get milky way pictures, but I don't think it will be easy.

The problem with taking images of stars is they move across the sky during the required long exposure to capture the low light output so you end up with streaks as per the image below.One option if you dont want an arty effect is to get a specialist clockwork timer that attaches between tripod and camera rotating it slowly in time with the movement.

 

 

 

Another option if you include landmass or building is to do two images and merge them in any of your favorite image editors.One set to expose correctly for the nearby objects and a second without moving the camera, long exposure of the sky.

Metering helps also,  spot metering would've exposed the center a bit more.
