Motoko.
I liked Halo 4's multiplayer but going back to Halo 3, I actually miss the old style of play. It was a winning formula that shouldn't have been tampered with. Well I guess that's that.. matt4444 and Emn1ty 2 Share

Emn1ty
Halo 3 was a terrible game. The only good Halo was the first one. Back before Bungie got arrogant and ****ty. All the old games are better than 4. Tbh, 3 had it about right between the three original games. Bungie just listened to the competitive community a bit too much and decimated vehicular combat on almost all the maps, including Avalanche which was specifically designed for vehicular mayhem. I no longer own an XBox, but I did for a while and absolutely love the storyline for Halo. I always got annoyed at the multiplayer though. I prefer more "realistic" combat. Hardcore mode on Call of Duty is always fun for me, or if I'm wanting some futuristic space shooter action, Killzone 3 is really fun for me. Halo always got under my skin, even though I was actually pretty decent at multiplayer, because the winning combination was to spray bullets while running toward your opponent and then melee them as soon as you're within melee range. I always wondered why dumping an entire magazine into somebody never killed them, but punching them in the back of the head was an instant kill. Somebody throw a grenade at your feet? Jump, and there's a good chance it will just launch you into the air a bit and you'll survive. As far as the campaign mode goes though, there are a lot of memorable moments throughout the Halo series. I haven't played 4 though, and have no real desire to unless it comes to Playstation, because I'm extremely happy with my Playstation 3. It has lasted longer than both of the XBox 360s I owned combined.

Really quite funny considering how they still want people to use DirectX over OpenGL too. Gerowen 1 Share
George P Global Moderator Posted March 4, 2013 Global Moderator Share Posted March 4, 2013 Having devs use DirectX and keeping halo a Xbox only game are two different things. You don't see other console poster franchises come to the PC do you? Not unless we're running an emulator. I don't see Nintendo bringing it's Mario games to the PC, or any of sonys big name first party games coming to the PC either. Why should Halo be different now? Just because the first 2 were? ahhell and Elliot B. 2 Share
Jose_49
Halo 3 Maps are amazing :) Guardian, Construct, Narrows, The Pit, Valhalla, Epitaph... Crap! I'm getting excited again! Seems I'll be playing them again too XDDD I'm still wondering why 343i hasn't fixed maps variety (forge maps) for Team Slayer., though. : /
BajiRav
Any past Halo is better than Halo 4 multiplayer. I think just multi-player wise I would rank 1 > 2 > R > 3 > 4. On a related note: I think the increased graphical fidelity in Halo4 actually bothers me during multi-player. I find it relatively difficult to tell things apart or may be it is just bland repetitive design of maps. The majestic map pack addresses the size problem but I don't think they have done enough on the look of them. Their much-talked about playtests have ruined the fun part of the game over the years IMO. It was fun having more people on smaller maps (remember wizard/Longest/Foundation?) but all of that was sacrificed in the name of ****ing balance. George P Global Moderator Posted March 4, 2013 Global Moderator Share Posted March 4, 2013 The only problem I have with the halo 4 maps are that most are too big for normal 4v4 team slayer but I quite like the maps on big team slayer.

Mr.XXIV
All Halo's (except Wars) were great. Halo 4 is just more than amazing because of the Campaign and Spartan Ops. I'm just anxious to know where it takes me as far as season 2 or Halo 5.

I think my combined big team slayer count on all previous Halos is probably less than half of my total on Halo 4. I think I have played the most on Exile (which is an awesome map). If you're a Halo fan, who loves the Halo Universe and the stories, then Halo Wars is an excellent game, even if you're not a fan of the RTS genre. I recon we will be seeing a Halo Wars 2 from 343i. I like Halo 3's multiplayer as well as Halo 4's. They both have a great feel to them. Halo 4's multiplayer is different so it became fresh and attractive to a new audience as well as the old. neoadorable
Halo 3 was an awesome, and will always be with me as a symbol of this generation. it was also part of the best year in gaming to date, 2007. and revel in the fact that you love gaming again, I've also rediscovered my love for this great hobby that has saved my life so many times, and there's no shame in it! The mid-range rifles, or the sniper if you're good enough with it to shoot on the run, are far better. And the melee from behind was always an assassination type thing. In Halo 3 they added a sequence where it actually looked like an assassination rather than just a punch to the back of the head. I preferred Halo to other shooters because it provided more opportunities to actually fight with people since you don't die as quickly and easily as you do in CoD or what have you. Halo 1 was the most fun, imo.

Sony and Nintendo don't make Windows. That's my point, Microsoft makes Windows, wants developers to continue developing only for Windows, yet seemingly doesn't care about Windows as a game platform (GfWL was their main competitor to Steam, even EA has done better for gamers with Origin, and that's saying something) Again, making windows and having halo on the pc are different things. If MS didn't care about PC gaming at all like you make it sound they would have stopped developing DirectX at 9.0 yet they didn't. The fact is that they've kept pushing the platform forward, all the low level changes made with vista and others in 7 and 8 have helped gaming. The windows store itself helps gaming, bringing the Xbox service to the pc helps gaming. MS has done and keeps doing more work to help developers who make games at the low level, porting halo to the pc has little impact to gaming as updating dx or windows itself does. And while Sony doesn't make windows they make PC hardware so why not make their PlayStation games exclusive to their own hardware at least? ahhell 1 Share
