bogas04
I don't know if everyone is aware of this , but the Calculator app on windows phone shows trignometric functions on rotating screen to left while rotating the phone to right would show you computer operations. I was amazed seeing this approach ! iOS does have a scientific calculator mode one rotating the screen but has a button which shows more operations , but this one seemed to be cooler :p Just wanted to share it with you guys :) Yusuf M. 1 Share Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/1139940-windows-phone-calculator-app-tip/ Share on other sites
Nick H. Supervisor Posted March 5, 2013 Supervisor Share Posted March 5, 2013 It's the same for Android as well, although with some different features: Pretty cool. I just wish I did Maths that involved using the functions...actually, who am I kidding? Of course I don't. EDIT: Oh, and do you know how hard it is to get a screenshot with the screen on its side? I must have been trying for about 10 minutes to get the above screen... :pinch: Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/1139940-windows-phone-calculator-app-tip/#findComment-595558758 Share on other sites
bogas04
^ I was talking about different functions depending on the orientation of phone , smart it was for me. Umm , on windows phone I just had to rotate it , press home button and lock button , and done! :) #SwitchToLumia xD ingramator 1 Share Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/1139940-windows-phone-calculator-app-tip/#findComment-595558768 Share on other sites
ingramator
This is a cool feature :) and I have used it before! The programming calculator is particularly useful for quickly converting between Hexi and Binary  @Intrinsica, I think OP was referring to the fact on WP, depending on the rotation direction, will give u different operators which I am quite sure is 100% unique (don't own any other devices that do it nor know of any!) bogas04 1 Share Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/1139940-windows-phone-calculator-app-tip/#findComment-595558778 Share on other sites
Nick H. Supervisor Posted March 5, 2013 Supervisor Share Posted March 5, 2013 Oh, I see! Yep, just tried it on the Android and it provides me with the same functions regardless of which way it is rotated. Yusuf M. Veteran Posted March 6, 2013 Veteran Share Posted March 6, 2013 Haha! That's pretty cool. I wish I knew this last week when I needed a scientific calculator in class. M_Lyons10
Interesting. I've had a WP for a long time and had no idea it had different options depending on the way you rotate your phone. LOL I knew you got a scientific calculator, but never rotated it to the right.
