Uniforms and hats, weapon skins and XP bonuses shouldn't be far away. Other than that I expect the maps to only feature one alleyway now, we wouldn't want all those console derps to get confused by offering them multiple options! +SOOPRcow MVC Posted March 19, 2013 MVC Share Posted March 19, 2013 I think they handled the monetization of BF3 pretty decently. The DLC's all included quite a bit of original content. You could purchase the ability to fully rank up a specific kit and what not. Wasn't too bad. dead.cell 1 Share
PsychD
Pay for guns. Pay $5 to get a laser cannon that fires other machineguns which fire rockets. For some reason I hope that DICE has enough dignity left to not offer weapons giving a benefit to the buyer, if/when they decide to do micro transactions. But I could see them offer Nations - British Armed Forces for 10$ containing various weapons and uniforms. I think they handled the monetization of BF3 pretty decently. The DLC's were surprising, though I wasn't too fond of Close Quarters and haven't tried End Game yet. I had forgotten all about the unlock kits, what are horrible idea. The starting weapons are beasts any way (Recon excluded), so why even bother buying the kits? If you don't play a class you shouldn't have the ability to get unlocks for it, the same go for vehicles. Still the SAS is something to be proud of! BF2 had some great additions in form of DLC, especially the booster packs integrated some great content! I do believe Euro Force added the Leopard 2A6, Challenger 2 (Tanks) and the Typhoon (Jet) and a series of small-arms including the L85A2, and added a new faction (EU) together with new maps. It would have been great to experience something besides USA and Russia in BF3, could have been a great DLC getting to fight as an EU army with new vehicles. They should have made a "Booster Pack" just as they did in BF2, would have been better than Close Quarters.

fintechfooty
How is it ridiculous? Why would I want to be linked to a website to start my game? I would much rather not have to go through 'Battlelog' all the time. If you're going to make a game, at least make a decent start screen like the one in SimCity or TR. You're spending almost 59.99 and they can't make it better. SO i guess reading my response, i should rephrase that i really think the visuals are horrendous. But what happens if I play BF3 offline? If it can't connect to battlelog will it just go into the game? tbh i just got this game yesterday and it wouldn't start up :/ even after I clicked quickmatch in BL
+SOOPRcow MVC Posted March 19, 2013 MVC Share Posted March 19, 2013 TBH I think it's pretty safe to say Battlelog is probably the best server browser DICE has ever made. DirtyLarry, dead.cell and djdanster 3 Share

Personally I like it handled in a internet browser window, since it's much much faster than if it was in-game, and more information can be accessed quicker. Plus then the mouse doesn't have to be emulated, which is often terrible in games. If you play it offline, it starts the game straight up into single player mode and skips the battlelog. I've never had any problems with any of that.
PsychD
@SuprNOVA I was against Battlelog from the begining, but I quickly grew fond of it. Especially because, as +SOOPRcow says, it's the best server browser they have made to date. Besides that it was easier to connect with friends, and the forums were just a click away,. I liked the fact everything was so easily accesible, and though it needs some tweaking, I wouldn't mind if it was used for BF4. As for the graphics being horrendous, I don't know about that, the color filters were horrendous, it would have looked better without it, but luckily injectors managed to get rid it for me. The Laughing Man
I used to hate the server browser outside of the game but grew into it and actually became better. Since the game loads quickly and without any stupid intros its easy to alt-tab / alt-enter to do other things including searching for assignments or just general multitasking. fintechfooty
If you don't have internet connection you can launch BF3 single player directly from origin. Now the gfx in bf3 are "horrendous"? lol, thats new to me. Battlelog is the social portal for bf3, servers, stats, forums, etc, once you actually use it you'll realize there is much more to it, its not complicated, and works quite nice actually. Seems to me that you're just in a bitchy mood and looking for stuff you know nothing about to bitch about. No brotha, I'm not in a bitchy mood. and NO I never said/meant the gfx in BF3 are horrible :/ The visuals of Battlelog are crap and so far I'm not into Battlelog. not BF3 wtf they're gorgeous, and thats why i got the game. dead.cell
I'm totally for people being against EA and whatnot, but Battlefield 3 was rather amazing, and pretty well done. I've never been someone who cared about graphics either, but now I'm downright spoiled by the way BF3 looks that Call of Duty feels ancient graphically speaking, gameplay wise, and so forth. (not knocking anyone who likes CoD though) The DLC setup was actually nice, and seeing all these videos on End Game goes to show that they did a decent job creating some new mechanics, beyond just your typical new map addition. As for the server browser, I love it. I honestly didn't expect to like it, but everything you want to find is easily accessible, and keeping up with friends and groups is pretty awesome. :) djdanster 1 Share

Why? Some people play the game on multiple systems and don't want to unlock all the crap two or even 3 times. And besides that, it has absolutely no affect what so ever on your own game so why do you care who has what unlocked?
