I'll blind vote the 430 as I have one, but if you're planning to game on it, mine although will play SC HotS I have to use a lower graphics setting. as the gadget I've included, when playing that game, will be maxxed out.

It's worth pointing out that the GT 430 is a DX11 card, while the 7900 GTX is only DX9. While the technical specs of the 7900 GTX may be slightly better it's probably worth going for the GT 430.

That said, both cards are really weak and should be avoided if possible.

Thanks everyone for your answers. This is for my brother in-law. He does not game.

He uses Photoshop every day, browse the web/listen to music, he also uses Pro Show Producer and wants to edit videos sometime soon. Maybe this will help clear things up more

The 430 has a much more modern architecture, has dx11 support, and can utilize the newer WDM 1.1 drivers in windows 7+, and despite some of the 7900's specs looking "better", the 430 is faster in most cases. Definitely go with the 430.
