Are the IE team trying to create their own web standards again? Their newer browsers are more standards based than ever before, starting with IE9 they're up with the best of them from what I know. Sites are often coded for the broken versions. IMO IE8 and before should be banned once IE11 comes out (I know, not gonna happen, but hey.)
