+longgonebn Subscriber² Posted June 18, 2013 Subscriber² Share Posted June 18, 2013 So I purchased a cooler master hyper 212 evo, a new psu for my new build. Put it all together and it does not turn on. I have checked and tried all possible areas for the headers. Ideas? No power at all, no noise, no fans, no lights. +longgonebn Subscriber² Posted June 18, 2013 Author Subscriber² Share Posted June 18, 2013 No, without video card same, and it'd all the same hardware except the PSU so reset bios makes no sense.
Mindovermaster Global Moderator Posted June 18, 2013 Global Moderator Share Posted June 18, 2013 I'm afraid your PSU is just, dead. Circaflex
make sure psu is off, unfold paperclip into a "U" like formation, stick one end into black the other into green, plug in PSU and flip back switch see if it turns on or not
Mindovermaster Global Moderator Posted June 18, 2013 Global Moderator Share Posted June 18, 2013 ^ What he said. I have a PSU, cheap piece of crap, that I use as a tester for drives. See if they rumble.

123456789A
You didn't plug your motherboard in to the PSU.
Mindovermaster Global Moderator Posted June 19, 2013 Global Moderator Share Posted June 19, 2013 Ok dis it, the fan for the PSU turned on, what does that mean? That means you are getting at least some power. Can you possibly try that PSU on another system? You didn't plug your motherboard in to the PSU. In the paper clip test, you wouldn't. +longgonebn Subscriber² Posted June 19, 2013 Author Subscriber² Share Posted June 19, 2013 If it were to work on another system, that would say what?
Mindovermaster Global Moderator Posted June 19, 2013 Global Moderator Share Posted June 19, 2013 If it works fine in another system, your PSU is not the problem in this configuration.

+longgonebn Subscriber² Posted June 19, 2013 Author Subscriber² Share Posted June 19, 2013 Ok. I plugged in the old PSU and it's running. So it's the new PSU for sure then right? Also, My new Hyper 212 sounds kinda loud, thought it was suppose to be quieter then factory stuff. *nevermind, its my new 230mm Fan, I think it might have a ball bearing issue. :(
