Windows 8.1 RTM Pro/Enterprise original iso's will be leaked by Wzor

Installed and activated with my 8.0 key and it works like a charm.  Simple things do allot to make Win 8.1 much better, like using the same background for the Start Screen and the Desktop, make it less of a 2 headed OS.

Working great on my PC and Lappy, anyone discovered any good temperature monitoring software that will work with Win8.1 yet? I tried openhardwaremonitor, froze my PC and not tried any others yet. Tune Up Utilities 2013 won't work properly either yet.

CoreTemp works fine.

That's fine, I just have to grab my tablets OEM key so I can activate after or did it not ask you for a key at all?

I was asked for a key, and I used the one that is floating about to do the install. You need to change the key afterwards to activate.

If your still unable to install it manually as per the instructions I posted earlier, your other option is to download .NET framework offline installer. You can get it from here http://www.askvg.com/download-microsoft-net-framework-3-5-offline-installer-for-windows-8/

It didn't work either, for some reason when I show the path to my dvd where I have copy of the RTM , my dvd just continues read nonstop, even if I close the program its still reading, I just see LED indicator going, but nothing is happening, like its not reading the dvd.   I'm getting very frustrated..theres some program that I want to install and I can't without the .NET framework. I hope this has nothing to do with me upgrading this over a leak I installed 9471, I'm starting to feel like I should just start fresh and do a clean install instead.

I'd recommend you take the 8.1 ISO file, double click it to mount it, run an elevated command prompt and enter command pointing to mounted ISO drive as it took several minutes for me to complete, will take much longer on an external HDD or DVD drive. "SecureBoot isn't configured correctly" is just as it says, you have to configure Secure boot in your UEFI BIOS. If it's disabled, enable it. If you can't find that option, check for a BIOS update.

Here are my BIOS settings, it still says that it's not configured correctly

This seems to be a big bug in Win8.

But you can install it via the command line.

If you cannot connect to the Internet, you can enable the .NET Framework 3.5 by using the Deployment Image Servicing and Management (DISM) command-line tool and specifying the installation media (ISO image or DVD) you installed Windows 8 from.

  1. In Windows 8 or Windows Server 2012, open a Command Prompt window with administrative credentials (that is, choose Run as administrator).

  2. To install the .NET Framework 3.5 from installation media located in the D:\sources\sxs directory, use the following command:

    DISM /Online /Enable-Feature /FeatureName:NetFx3 /All /LimitAccess /Source:d:\sources\sxs

    where:

    • /Online targets the operating system you're running (instead of an offline Windows image).

    • /Enable-Feature /FeatureName:NetFx3 specifies that you want to enable the .NET Framework 3.5.

    • /All enables all parent features of the .NET Framework 3.5.

    • /LimitAccess prevents DISM from contacting Windows Update.

    • /Source specifies the location of the files needed to restore the feature (in this example, the D:\sources\sxs directory).

?

Now it should work

I posted eariler in this thread, with a pic that it didn't work for me.

I've only ever had this problem with 8.1 never before, weird!

This seems to me to be a really huge bug, or am I wrong? Maybe this is one of the thing that they are still working on before GA?

No, that's the thing, nothing happened at all I think if I left it, it would still be going now. I'm going to try again right now, and let it run for 1/2 hour and see what happens

Not sure if it is already answered, but FYI your existing W8.0 keys can be used for activation. Just install W8.1 without the key (i.e. don't enter the key during the install setup) and then activate manually after you get to the desktop.
