Sir Topham Hatt
For me: Pasta - Al dente. Steak - Medium rare (although more on the medium side). Just wondering...
spacer
Al dente, medium rare. For steaks anyway, there is no wrong way to eat it. Pasta on the other hand...
Nagisan
Al dente, and well done (I'll eat steak cooked medium, but I prefer red meats medium-well to well-done).
Max Norris
Al dente for the pasta. For steaks there's medium rare and then there's garbage... anything else and it's either tough and dry (leather) or it's still chomping on grass. That could be considered opinion though. I like my meat cooked well enough it basically falls apart in your mouth....yes it is dry, but I usually use A1 on it anyway. I do enjoy pink meat, just not the kind you put on a grill. Medium - only thing I need to cook a steak is salt/pepper/butter (maybe a touch of garlic) Pasta - al dente

McKay
So wrong. Anything over medium is a travesty to beef. Actually he is correct, as long as it physically doesn't give you food poisoning, there is no "correct" grade of cooked. It's a travesty because you don't like it? I don't enjoy eating medium or below, it doesn't mean I'll accuse other people of being wrong. My friend only eats Blue-Rare, the damn thing looks like jelly inside, we were in a restaurant once and when asked how he wanted it he replied "Just give the Cow a slap and send it through". He also accuses anyone of eating it anything other than blue-rare of having Steak "wrong".

Nagisan
A1? I hope thats only for cheap cuts of beef! No idea, I don't know what is and isn't considered a cheap cut.....I use A1 because I love the flavor it has (I think it runs in the family, my mother and her father both love A1 as well), not because I don't like the taste of the meat, I just like the taste of A1 better. Nick H. Supervisor Posted September 5, 2013 Supervisor Share Posted September 5, 2013 Al dente and medium-rare are going to win. I prefer al dante for pasta. For steak I used to prefer well done, but in recent years I've come to enjoy steak ? point.

Ambroos
Al dente for my pasta, ? point for my steak (which is how it's supposed to be!). (= medium-rare) Many steak places here in Belgium don't offer anything over ? point. Charisma 1 Share

Then why even have the steak at all? Might as well throw A1 on fries or crackers and eat away. Honestly though, I was at a fine Kansas City steak house.. Jokingly said, could you get me some A1. I swear the restaurant went silent. For a walmart steak, sure.
Bamsebjørn
All floppy andbextremely spicy for my pasta. As for steak, rare or none. If it's overcooked, I'll order a salad.
