JoHideo
I was wondering if anyone had any idea about the Aldi's computer that is sold in the USA. I think it is made by Medion or something to that effect. Any information would be appreciated. Thanks.
dev/null
Since I don't live in the US and can't find anything on their site about it, I can't say anything specific about that computer, but if they are as good as they normally are when in the european aldi's then they are good (if not great) computer at the price. Most people aren't fond of the dea of buying computers in aldi, but they seem to forget that it's not aldi that are servicing them, you are going direct to either the manufacturer or a firm specializing in servicing computers. So depending on specs and price for it, I would say buy it.

Pootis Spencer
Aldi only currently deal with Medion. They are cheap PC's for the specs. Like dev/null says people are scared to buy something like this from Aldi as its more of a grocery shop.
Chicane-UK Veteran Posted November 23, 2003 Veteran Share Posted November 23, 2003 I read the spec of that (and saw the price) and couldn't believe what you were getting for the money. ALL branded parts (puts the likes of PC World, Time, etc to shame), a heck of a bundle, and a super price. Its worth mentioning that Aldi are a huge chain in Germany and just that over here in the UK they are seen as a bit of a cheap store. I shouldn't imagine you'd go too wrong with that PC! :)

RauL
and you become a SIS :s MotherBoard , and a lot of stuff you will never use. I would rather go with a DELL 8300 pure performance. Edited November 23, 2003 by RauL

JoHideo
This is all good for the UK people, but does anyone know if this is available in the US? I already have a pretty nice computer right here, but I was looking to get another nice one at a somewhat cheap price. So if anyone has any idea about the deal in the US, please let us all know. I might go down to Aldi's today and see if they have it and if I find out anything, I'll be sure to come back here and leave a message.
insanekiwi
i'm from germany. aldi is very famous over here. it's a low-cost supermarket chain that offers hardware from time to time. the medion pc is always a very good pc w/good compnents for a moderate price. yet it's hard to upgrade ot alter anything cuz it comes assembled and pre-installed.
