I thought I would create a thread to keep all the news for Forza 5 as there seems to be quite a few now.

few cars then :P

Looking forward to this game, played it on the tour and although it wasn't a massive leap graphically the rumble on the triggers made the game feel a lot different. Im a big fan of the Forza games so this is gonna be the first game i get on the XB1.

seems not many seem to care as much as me about this but new trailer today

I'm sure Forza 6 will be great. Forza 5 looks good, but who knows how much money you'll have to cough up for DLC to get all the tracks and cars they're clearly leaving out to make it out in time for launch,

What makes you say this? Is forza unique in ripping people off historically? The base features / cars / maps looks superb.. i wasn't expecting F1 to be added in, but if i had to pay a few bucks for f1 circuits, that wouldn't be bad.

Borderlands has been a great value for all its addons, i don't expect anything less of Forza.

Depends. If they release another 200 cars as DLC at a reasonable cost but never add any more tracks, that's a bit of a rip off, and vice versa. It's the whole "here's some cars and some tracks and maybe there will be more" attitude that irks me. I used to be a huge fan of the series, but before 4 the DLC was just making the game better, not completing it.

I haven't heard any reason to infer the game is incomplete though.  Adding more f1 circuits for a small fee is making the game better.. same with more cars. It would be financially impossible to deliver a game "complete" with EVERYTHING.

The way they measured the tracks and built in precision and worked on how the experience feels in race and how you can "Drivatar" is all simply amazing stuff that now raises the bar so high, other games could include more cars and tracks and feel incomplete in comparison.

There's no Nurburgring, Infineon, or Suzuka circuit. Sounds incomplete to me.

Also, let's be honest here, it's a console racer. If I wanted 100% track precision I'd be playing a simulator on the PC. Make the curves right, call it a day, release it with the tracks. Otherwise it's just an excuse for more DLC.

Yes, but at the same time they have added Spa, Monza and Abu Dhabi - three very popular tracks with me at least. Maybe they wanted to move away from giving people the same tracks game after game. Sure id rather they added rather than substituted but there was an interview somewhere where they have had to re-do pretty much all tracks so time was against them. For me personally I do want as close as possible track precision and prefer console gaming to PC gaming so this is exactly what I want.

As for the Season/Car Pass - IMO it isn't really value for money. 6 packs with 10 cars for $50 seems a little bit steep for me. There are full Xbox 360 release titles I have picked up for cheaper than that and 60 cars (no tracks mentioned) Is not a great deal when you keep in mind that Forza 4 had over double the cars at launch, not including the many packs they added later.

To be honest, I'm gutted at the loss of Nurburgring but I'm glad they did this. Throughout the Forza's Turn 10 had a habit to not re-draw assets which visually made some parts of the game more pretty than others. Maple Valley in FM4 for instance.

The fact that they've dropped assets out of the game which haven't been redrawn makes me happy, all the tracks and cars are correct for next-gen.

If they laser scan Nurburgring with the F1 track, definitely buying.

It's probably not going to match F1 specific titles but it still looks pretty good

Saw @MightyJordan mention this on Twitter, and I have to agree, that sounds horrible.

Hoping it's just down to the feed/compression on YouTube.

I'm sure they will... for Forza 6.  :/

That was the point I was trying to make above, a racing game is cars + tracks, and there's a certain amount of both people expect from a game. Even if they release 900 cars through DLC, but no Nurburgring, the game will feel incomplete. And then Forza 6 will come out, with the Nurburgring, and its own set of DLC cars. It's just a way to try and push these games towards the $100 mark for people who really want to play them. Which would be fine if you knew this going in, but obviously they're not going to release any information, and try to get people to buy the base Forza 5 and 6 no matter what.

Season pass is a bit steep, what 40 bucks?  Then again, i hope you can just cherry pick which sup parts you want.  I have a feeling it costs a bit more because they're not just designing tracks and throwing them out there, they actually  measure them with freaking laser beams.

Still excited as all can be about this game and maybe by the time i get an x1 it will be discounted :D

Wait for the eventual GOTY version and stick a middle finger up to season passes :p

The only way I can and will justify the season pass is that I have the Day One Forza edition, so I am technically not paying for the game. I know as much as I say I'm not paying the stupid season pass prices, the first pack will come out and there will be one car in the pack of 10 that will make me excited and the rest will be history!
