wotsit
If I'm not mistaken the Windows desktop app for Facebook Messenger hasn't seen many updates and none recently - it doesn't support stickers for example. I was wondering if Facebook has quietly dumped it today with the launch of the new Messenger apps for Android and iOS? The link on the page below to install it takes you to a page where only the Android and iOS app is available. https://www.facebook.com/help/140228902751098#What-is-Messenger-for-Windows? Shame, it's handy not having to have Facebook open in the browser when wanting to simply use Facebook's chat for instant messaging in Vista/W7 - especially handy with Windows Live Messenger having gone the way of the Dodo. Dot Matrix
Use the Facebook app if you're on Windows 8.1.
+InsaneNutter MVC Posted November 14, 2013 MVC Share Posted November 14, 2013 You can connect to Facebook chat with Trillian on Windows, I always preferred that over the official Windows app.
wotsit
I might try Trillian. I guess Facebook is just done with anything not Windows 8 :(
cooky560 Veteran Posted November 16, 2013 Veteran Share Posted November 16, 2013 If you have the installer for the Windows app, it still works, so if your willing to trust sites like softonic, or made back ups you can still install it.

wotsit
Thanks Richard C - personally I still have the app installed, it's the lack of updates, such as support for Stickers which is the pain...

cooky560 Veteran Posted January 15, 2014 Veteran Share Posted January 15, 2014 since the windows chat app is just a browser window, surely any updates they make will be automatic.
