akaladis Veteran Posted November 27, 2003 Veteran Share Posted November 27, 2003 well November release wasnt that good in version checks.. but December will "ask" for Service Pack 1... November would allow SP2, SP3 etc... December will be more strict on that... /Raptor

JK1150
eh, even service pack 1 in the early beta stages messed up my system a lot. i stopped trusting service pack betas.

isus
AP?Speak English man! i think he's referring to auto patcher, a program made by a neowinian... (if you need more hints, look at flishfun's sig)
akaladis Veteran Posted November 28, 2003 Veteran Share Posted November 28, 2003 AP is short for AutoPatcher... i have written the name "AutoPatcher" so many time that it is much faster to use "AP" to refer to it :D

theprotege
i don't install anything on my box until its been released as FINAL for at least 4 months...but maybe thats me just not wanting to spend my life formatting and reinstalling
akaladis Veteran Posted November 28, 2003 Veteran Share Posted November 28, 2003 AutoPatcher is more like an advanced front-end to batch files... it's main functionality relies on batch files, however it has grown to more than just that... Multiple database indexing, Operating system/service pack level/hotfix detection and interaction have made AutoPatcher something more than just a batch file front-end... /Raptor

And to help everyone out: AP = AutoPatcher APXP = AutoPatcher XP (For Windows XP) AP2000 = AutoPatcher 2000 (For Windows 2000) AP2k3 = AutoPatcher 2k3 (For Windows 2003 Server) :D
