Marvel Animation is reportedly working on a Guardians of the Galaxy cartoon.

An insider told Comic Book Movie of the plans for the show based on the cosmic series.

The property is already being developed into a feature film that will arrive this summer.

Senior editor Stephen Wacker hinted at the possibility of a Guardians animation last year.

The James Gunn-directed movie will star Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Chris Bautista, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Lee Pace and Karen Gillan. It will be released on August 1.

A release date and details for the Guardians of the Galaxy cartoon are currently unknown.
