Far Cry: The Wild Expedition is a compilation

Bundles Far Cry 1, 2, 3 and Blood Dragon, due 14th Feb.

Ubisoft has told Eurogamer that new game Far Cry: The Wild Expedition is a collection of Far Cry games.

 

Which games? Far Cry 1, 2, 3 and Blood Dragon, apparently. And all at a knocked-down price (the trade price is lower, but what shops will settle on we'll have to wait and see).

 

Wild Expedition is due out on PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 on 14th February - known to some as Valentine's Day.

Far Cry The Wild Expedition announced, includes Far Cry 1-3 and Blood Dragon

 

Far Cry The Wild Expedition has been announced by Ubisoft to celebrate the 10-year Anniversary of the Far Cry franchise. The North American version is called Far Cry Compilation, and does not contain Far Cry 1.

 

The European compilation includes: Far Cry Classic, Far Cry 2, Far Cry 3 and Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon. It will be released in the UK on February 14 for PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 for ?29.99.

 

The Far Cry Compilation for North America contains Far Cry 2, Far Cry 3 and Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon for $39.99 and will be released exclusively on PS3 February 11.

 

In addition, Far Cry Classic will be available on February 12 as a standalone downloadable title for the Xbox Live and PSN for ?7.99.

 

Box art is below, and looks the same on all formats barring the hardware logos.

Finally FC1 Classic on consoles (Y)

That's cool news, but what a strange release.

So if you want Far Cry 1 in NA, you have pay extra money to buy it separately, but in Europe, you get it all for the same price? I wonder why that happened.

Also, is the 360 version in NA releasing Feb 14th or is it exclusive to the PS3 in NA? The way its worded in the article makes it sound like its only coming to the ps3 in NA.

I'm tempted to just buy the European version. Although I'm still not sure if I want to buy it at full price at all. I have played the heck out of all of those on my pc.

Yup, PS3 exclusive in NA.

 

Europe gets all the games in the box on 360, PC and PS3.

 

Far Cry Classic was supposed to come out last year on PSN/XBLA, but I'm thinking a liscensing issue or file size issue held it up.

 

Shame it doesn't include Instincts: Predator for a 100% collection.
