Kaz documentary by Urban Outlaw filmmakers premieres on Hulu January 22nd


 
Presently, we argue about a number of driving simulation games, most notably the Gran Turismo franchise versus the Forza Motorsport franchise. In 1997, when the first Gran Turismo arrived, there was no such argument ? the offspring that took five years to birth from the mind of Kazunori Yamauchi was the thing if you wanted the most realistic driving experience... and a bunch of Skylines and JDM kei cars to drive. It is the reason we have Forza - and GT Academy - and it took driving console games in a new direction.

A documentary directed by Tamir Moscovici, the man behind the 30-minute documentary on outlaw Porsche builder Magnus Walker, will be airing on Hulu on Januarty 22. Called Kaz: Pushing the Virtual Divide, this could be, for now, the definitive video document surveying the past 22 years of GT in the words of the man who saw it through from idea to what he has in mind next for the world of GT.

The filmmakers and Kazunori will host a roundtable on Twitch.tv that accompanies the airing and offers the chance to win $1,000,000 in Gran Turismo 6 credits. You'll find the two-minute trailer below.
