Crap Cleaner Probably one of the best cleaner apps out there and has one of the best registry cleaners

Folder Lock Free Edition Allows you to lock any folder with a password to hide your secret files :ninja: Even works in safe mode.

YourCPL Allows you to add any icon or shortcut into the control panel

Restoration scroll down and find "restoration" it's a small, free, and useful little data recovery tool :) Works pretty good

Banshee Screamer Great, awesomely, great alarm clock. I use it to wake myself up every morning and it never fails because it's loud and annoying as holy hell when you turn the sound up

FoxIt! PDF Reader - Small & FAST PDF reader.

K9 Email Filter - Spam filter for your favorite email client. There's a bunch of these out but I like this one. Very small install and it just works.

Folder Size Extension - Adds a column to your windows explorer stating the approximate size of each folder/file. Look at the webpage for details. Nifty little plugin.

Windows Cleaner 2005 - Free, very nice and fast app, works great with ccleaner and has constant updates and many nice features.

Winpatrol - Free, the BEST program for protecting you from anything suspicious on your computer, small memory footprint and many nice updates

Winwall - Free, small memory footprint and fast. Great for managing large amounts of walls.

I wish that you wouldn't have merged my thread. I didn't specify whether or not the apps to be named should be freeware or commercial apps. Some people had already mentioned commericials apps such as Tuneup Utilities, which are now mixed up in the freeware applications thread.

Thanks for Winroll, I was using Filebox Extender which uses far more resources for the same purpose!

My suggestions:

which facilitates navigation in Windows Explorer

Looks interessting, but everytime I start it and like to open an explorer windows, task bar freezes, crash and error report pops up. doesn't matter what folders or drives i use in the config of Folderview.

Tried this on an Windows XP Pro SP2 (newest patches) english version and on a german version of windows, same problem :(

Desktop modifications:

Glass2K

Glass2k is a small little program that allows Windows 2000/XP users to make any window transparent. Right-click on any window or press the keyboard shortcuts (Control + Shift + [0-9]) to make any window transparent. It's that simple.

Has anyone tried tiagra menu builder, its a gui program that creates navigation menu's in javascript. I'ts good, but you can't position relative in pages.

Unless you know javascript well or pay for an upgrade.

Good point. This sort of thread makes me think that there should be some sort of NeoWin Wiki, which I think is better suited to this sort of thing.
