trooper11
Yeah I avoided WD Green. I'm currently rocking a 750GB 7200RPB WD Black (WD7500BPKX). I have been considering a WD Red 1TB 2.5" Yes, it could be argued that its overkill to use a NAS-grade drive in a console, but I like the tiny bit of extra peace of mind from using a higher grade drive. I plan to have this drive in this console for years, running for many hours during that time. Reliability is my priority. Speed is great, but considering an SSD doesnt change things much, I'll lean the other way. I got the drive above for ?47 which is quite a decent price and considering I still plan to buy physical where possible 750GB should be okay for the next few years at least. trooper11 1 Share Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/1201153-hard-drive-recommendations-for-the-ps4/page/2/#findComment-596268425 Share on other sites

Brian M. Veteran Posted February 18, 2014 Veteran Share Posted February 18, 2014 I have a 1TB WD Scorpio Blue on my PS3 for almost a year and had a 500GB one before that. Rock solid on the 2,5'' format. 2TB WD Green? Like I said, it has a clear focus on power saving features causing it to spin down and park its heads. Don't know if it's any good for a PS4. (SPLURGE ON AN SSD). No it's a Samsung M9T off the top of my head. It's the only available 9mm 2TB drive. Popular consensus is that it a large percentage of the time it doesn't work with the PS4 :/ Still, 1TB is plenty if you manage your library well and still buy physical copies. riahc3
Hello, This might not help but I bought the cheapest generic drive I could in the capacity I wanted off pricewatch for my Xbox (no, not the Xbox 360 and no, not the Xbox One) and it keeps working to this day. Showan
I called Seagate and the Spin Point M9T won't be available to consumer till late March early April. OEM's get first dibs. I can wait it out, considering the biggest game I'll probably have between now and then in inFamous:SS http://www.seagate.com/www-content/support-content/samsung/internal-products/spinpoint-m-series/en-us/samsung-m9t-internal-ds.pdf Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/1201153-hard-drive-recommendations-for-the-ps4/page/2/#findComment-596271287 Share on other sites
