Might I make a suggestion that the pictures should speak for themselves? I saw the February contest for "Envy", and to be honest, if it weren't for the extra text and explanations that were added, apart maybe from the laptop, you wouldn't be able to tell what the message was from the pictures.

I just think that if there is a theme for pictures, you should be able to tell it from the pictures that are taken, or see it reflected in them.

hmmm good point, however onto you I say, how many photos did you enter :shiftyninja:

I entered once so far. Reason being that I only found out about this contest a couple of months ago and up until last week I had almost no time at all to take any pictures. My work makes me leave early and come back late. However I started a new job this week and the working hours are now 9-5, so I'll have more time.

Well, I did my best, I uploaded photos onto 500px, and EXIF's screen shots taken. I do not know how to post 500px photos here. It says one photo but how I can fit two sequential shots in one photo. I think, I messed it up? Nevertheless, I posted, just in case. Photos taken in Bundoora, Vic, AU.

My perennial problem with these contest: Motion as to what? What is the conceptual frame? A picture that represents motion? A picture that freezes motion? That's only the tip of the word's spectrum.

MOTION

1
a :  an act, process, or instance of changing place :  movement
b :  an active or functioning state or condition <set the divorce proceedings in motion>
2
:  an impulse or inclination of the mind or will
3
a :  a proposal for action; especially :  a formal proposal made in a deliberative assembly
b :  an application made to a court or judge to obtain an order, ruling, or direction
4
obsolete
a :  a puppet show
b :  puppet
5
:  mechanism
6
a :  an act or instance of moving the body or its parts :  gesture
b plural :  activities, movements
7
:  melodic change of pitch

And well, since, to this point, we are free to interpret, I decide to adhere to this concept of motion:

an active or functioning state or condition

I'd be more inclined to say 'Crews in Motion'.  Just the first thought when I saw it :-)

Lol you didn't have to post EXIF data mate

I actually appreciate the idea that the clue for theme is just one word. It expands the potential instead of narrowing it down.

+1 Exactly, it opens up worlds of possibilities, but I will agree it opens up useless ones too

Good day fellow Photo Junkies.

I am sad to report that the only thing I had in motion was the mugger who held me up at knife point and then smashed my phone and ran away with my photography gear :(

Will try and enter with my phone camera, excuse my pictures if they are now super blotchy as my phones camera got smashed a bit too...

What a sucky weekend.
