Star Wars: Episode VII

Weird with Luke saying "My Father HAS it" not had aka dead. I wonder if we'll see Anakin at some point or just his force ghost.

ALSO HAN AND CHEWY.

I must have had something in my eye when I first heard Mr Ford say 'Chewy, we're home.'

that bit with the falcon flying through a ruined ship, from the look of it, it kinda looks like the back end of the super star destroyer.

I'll take your word for it, I have no idea about that  I'm not THAT big of a SW fan... But if it is what you're saying, what does it mean?

Gah!  I was wrong.  It's not after the Battle of Endor, it's before Luke leaves to meet the Emperor before the Battle of Endor.

I think it's a Super Star Destroyer upside down.  How cool is that!

But isn't that the same speech (with small changes) that Luke told Leia after the Battle of Endor?

Yea, I think it is as well.  Just clipped and rearranged...with them moving "You have that power too" to the end.  Start about 1:30 in the video.

It was....belly side up.

Pretty sure it's Hamil narrating. He's gained quite a few years since he's had to do any acting / voice work as Luke.

Anakin/Vader coming back to kick some arse would be pretty cool, if very un-Star Wars-y.

I'm convinced that it's Hamil narrating as well.

It's definitely Mark Hamil talking in the trailer.

I don't think it's Luke's son talking either. Jedi are forbidden from having off spring, right? If Luke wanted to bring the Jedi order back, I would assume he would follow all of their traditions too.

I'm going to go with idea that Luke is talking about his father in present tense, because he converses with force-ghost Anakin.

That trailer was SOOO good. It definitely has the feeling of the original trilogy movies. I'm so hyped for December!

Agreed - I dont know where I saw it, but I read that Hamil did the voiceover work for it.

My guess it would be Lea's son?

This makes the most sense to me

+1, after the first teaser I was still a bit meh (prob after the prequel garbage), but this has restored some excitement.

I'm pretty sure I read that Luke has gone a bit uh, mental in episode 7. Not quite dark side, but he's losing his mind either from the power he has, or just being corrupted by something specific. Either way, the little echo after each line Luke says in the trailer kinda goes along with that aspect of the story.

Also, I believe Ben in the movie is Luke's kid who joins the 3 heroes at some point.

Looks like Mark Hamill has lost weight... EjQi0eS.png

Getting into Jedi shape.  I expect Yoda level badassery from Luke in this or I am going to be disappointed.

I see a daughter and not a son like the books.

Remember the extended universe is now non cannon. Who is this teenage girl in both trailers? If the jedi of the new order can not love or marry perhaps it is Leigha's and Han's daughter who uncle Luke is training as a jedi?

A female lead jedi is very different indeed from the male oriented historical role. Perhaps to attract a more female audience.

What do you all think?

IDK.  The mask looks really strange for one.  Now if Luke's son was talking then the father reference would be Luke and the person he is talking to would be Luke's grandson? And the sister reference is a granddaughter?  Don't know if the time line allows for this.

I am leaning towards no son.

Reason being is we would have heard by now and both trailers keep showing this girl and black former storm trooper. My guess is a daughter and if the books are now non-cannon perhaps she is Leigha's and Han's daughter before her mom became a jedi.

It's the daughter of Han and Leia (it's more or less been confirmed at this point who it is).

Also, it'll be weird to see a Stormtrooper that has the force (it is strong with this one?). Unless he's just in a getup or doing some sort of recon and not actually a Stormtrooper. Even though at the SW thing the other day they pretty much confirmed he's a Stormtrooper who joins the rebels or whatever they will be in the new trilogy.

He does regular VA work in many animated shows. He was the Joker in Batman for -years-.

Oh I'm more than aware of that, I'm saying that I would think it's been a while since he's had to voice Luke.

He's hardly recognisable as Vulgrim in Darksiders or the Joker - a completely different type of exaggerated voice.

Yeah, it's pretty much an open secret who the girl is, now if there's a son or something we haven't seen yet, we'll just have to wait and find out.

Isn't Hamill going to be the animated version of Armin Zola on Avengers Assemble very soon?

Wait, I thought he retired from VA work last year? I mean, I know he's "retired" a few times recently, but because of Star Wars etc I thought he was actually retired (again) from VA work?

I remember hearing that he's going to be Armin Zola in an upcoming episode of Avengers Assemble, so I think you missed the memo that he's still doing VA work, just for Avengers Assemble.
