Xerino Posted March 18, 2014 Share Posted March 18, 2014 Well, with all these Neowin nerd reviews here for hardware and software, why not give a review on the snacks that keep us going.. I picked these up today while at the local Valero gas station, getting some snacks for my pending all night editing session, was just going to get my standard Honey BBQ chips, but decided that Im a glutton for punishment, and if I dont like them, I lost $1.50. At first taste, you dont even taste the potato, you are immedately hit with a Maple syrup flavored Eggo waffle, and as you continue chewing, you get a slight hint of Fired Chicken, not like KFC or Popeye's, but more like the frozen Tyson kind you find in a Swansons TV Dinner. Finally as you swallow, you finally taste the potato in the chip. I am sold on them however, and hope this isn't a limited time promotion, I will try the "Cheesy Garlic Bread" next, but I am not touching the Saracha flavored chips, as I hate saracha sauce.... Availability = Any Major Grocery Store Price = $1.49USD for the small bag $3.49 for the big bag Ease of use = Open bag, remove chip, insert in mouth Not compatibile with diabetics or people with high sodium levels. I think they taste absolutely atrocious and the idea of having actual chicken and waffles was not only odd but didn't sound good to me. It's like the difference of having steak and fudge sunday together instead of a baked potato but that's me. I didn't grow up eating chicken with a side of waffles, rather we had something like corn, green beans or maybe mashed potatoes with chicken. How about cereal and chicken? Buttus Posted March 18, 2014 Share Posted March 18, 2014 i've tried chicken and waffles, and it was alright, but i'm definately one that likes my salty foods away from my sweet foods. like my wife loves syrup on bacon or sausage when having pancakes, but to me, BLEEECCH so, the chips don't sound appealing to me now, the garlic cheesy ones, i'll give those a try! The flavor was not exactly what I expected (more of a buttery parmesean) , but was okay. However, the crisp texture and wafer-like thickness of the chips was more off-putting to me.
