SouthGate
Wasn't sure whether to post this in software or hardware. I can play about 30 minutes worth of flash video before my rig dies, literally just powers down and reboots without warning. This is definitely related to flash since I ran prime95 and furmark over night, and was still running in the morning with good temps. I can play HTML5 video fine on YouTube, it's just flash that makes my rig die. I've done a fair bit of Googling and found threads where people are having similar problems, but I've found no resolution. Any suggestions? Haggis Veteran Posted April 12, 2014 Veteran Share Posted April 12, 2014 Monitor your temps while flash is playing my temps go through the roof if i have flash running for a while
Praetor
Also which browser are you using? I've found that while view yt in Chrome my rig is much more stable then the same video being played on Firefox (high memory consume, high CPU, etc.). But yeah, check those temps while flash is being used.
SouthGate
I'll watch the temps whilst watching some stuff, weird since it passed a 12 hour prime95 test. I'm using Chrome, should I perhaps try another browser?
Praetor
also check the event viewer to see if it registered the cause of the reboot.

Torolol
in the past there was problem with combination between nvidia drivers & flash-hardware-accelerations, which could kill the GPU for prolonged use. recommended action at that time is to un-check flash hardware acceleration checkmark. COKid
Other than disabling hardware acceleration, the best solution is to simply not use Flash. Aergan 1 Share

Aergan
It will be related to Flash, your video driver and hardware acceleration. Each new driver release from Nvidia either breaks it or fixes it in my circumstance. At the moment it works for Nvidia (no crashes for multiple tabs open or 100% GPU usage) but sends the fan into 100% full speed when using my on-board Intel based iGPU. xendrome
Yeah probably not a CPU/CPU Cooling issue, but related to Video Driver, GPU or GPU cooling problems. Prime95 won't work for testing that.
