as the thrashers are now days away from being eliminated from playoff contention, last nights victory did lock up their most successful season to date, with 76 points so far, 5 games to go. After the great start, its very disappointing that this season will end like all the other thrashers seasons so far. Ilya Kovalchuk still has a shot at the NHL total points and goals titles. He is 3rd in total points with 83, and tied for first in goals with 39. If he can score 3 more goals, he'll break the team record of 41 set by Dany Heatley last season. This year's team was a great 3rd period team, but they were an awful first period team. Nearly every night they would give up the first one or two goals, and just couldnt mount a comeback every night. There is still a ton of talent and potential on this team, and it would be awful if there was no season next year. This will likely be my last post this season about the Thrashers, and i'll be here as a neutral party in the playoffs again.

Even if Tampa wins the President's trophy we all know they'll choke in the playoffs.

indeed, the don't have the kind of depth and experience the red wings have. ;)

toronto and detroit in the finals would be nice but we all know what toronto does in the playoffs. ;)

With Nolan going down last night I think our chances of winning just went down a ton.

I want Colorado to win but facing reality, I don't think it's going to happent his year. :( Ottawa is bouncing around. Yesterday's tie-game with the Leafs and having Prusek let in a goal when they shouldn't have, Ottawa could have won. Oh well... I hope Ottawa and Colorado do well in the playoffs.

looks like Nolan is out for the playoffs... his knee will be re-assesed in 3weeks. Give a few weeks after for rehabilitation and another week to get skating again... i think he's definately out. Apparently its a torn ACL

I head heard earlier that he would be available for the 2nd round. Should the Leafs make it that far, of course.
