as much as experience matters (not being sarcastic), how long have the leafs been around? and when was their last cup? Im not trying to flame and i wont even attempt to argue any counterpoint as i am 100% noob in hockey other than actually playing the sport myself. And also toronto is probably regret not picking up a backup goalie.

EDIT: Didanyone see or read about what Don CHerry said about THe bertuzzi thing? I love don cherry.

Atlanta with the 1-0 victory over Carolina in OT. We're 8 points behind the NY Islanders for the final playoff spot with 9 games to go. its gonna take a miracle, but it could happen.

Speaking of miracles and overtime. The leafs came back from a 4 goal deficit to beat Buffalo in overtime. Mogilny got his 1,000th point (and 1,001 I think too).

The Leafs haven't won, true. But look at the last few cup champs. They've all been experienced.

Did Toronto?

They got farther than them for sure.

Distance means nothing. It's the end result that everyone remembers. And guess what, they lost. Granted my Leafs lose to but I'm fine with that. We have a young defense core that lacks experience. So yes we lost too. :p

P.S. I'm not trying to argue with you guys I'm just trying to point out that experience matters.

Toronto has not been a good playoff team these past few years.. *Remembers the series with them and the devils*

For sure Toronto has not been stellar in the playoffs. I'm not going to argue that. All I can say is losing to a team like NJ, a champion, ain't so bad. I'm still hoping that this year will be it for us.

Yes, experience matters to some extent, but the fact of the matter is your Leafs lost, too. You can't justify them losing based on their lack of experience.

But yet I can. Our young defensive core tends to choke. :p

@ Boffa: Yes I agree we should have snagged a backup. Also I think the chances of Edmonton making it are quite good. They've won some key games and are picking it up at the most important time.

I don't think that that was fair...(for Bleak)

While I don't think that it was an attempt to injure, I do think you need to be more careful with your stick than that.

The suspension does seem a bit extreme compared to the Moose's two games for an intentional spearing. I guess they want to give him the chance to retire without dishonour.

i think Belak took advantage of a fall to swing his stick... i know what its like cause i used to play hockey but the way he swung that stick was more than just a balancing measure

i dont think he meant to get vaannanen in the face though, probably tried to give him a chop on the stick or hands
