Windows 8.1 Update - DLNA Madness

Recommended Posts

Madness I tell you.

I have XBMC 12.3 set up to stream music.

Windows Media Player can browse my DLNA library, but will not play the files.

If I use Windows Explorer to browse to my DLNA library, I can open the file with WMP but it can take up to 5 minutes before a 3MB MP3 will play.

If I use Windows Explorer to browse to my DLNA library, I can open the file with another DLNA compliant media player (VLC) it opens, instantly.

If I use Windows Explorer to browse to my DLNA library, I can open the file with Xbox Music - which apparently according to Microsoft has no DLNA browsing capabilities nor is supposed to support DLNA streaming - the BLOODY.THING.WORKS!?! :s
