CD Ripping Error

Question

Hi All

Got a slight problem where i'm unable to rip any CD's in Windows 8.1 with Windows Media player, doesn't see the C:\Music folder,  already tried System restore, as well as sfc /scan now, plus reinstalling Windows Media Player 12 and Media Center, still the same,  so I guess only other option eventually is a Clean Install of 8.0, then update to 8.1 thru the store this time since have faster Cable internet now.    Just gotta get a new copy of 8.0 iso to put on flash drive since old flash drive died--usb 3.0 one.

Not sure if Avast interfers with anything or not, I doubt it

Exact Audio Copy (EAC) = the best way to rip CDs into lossless formats (FLAC, WAV, etc.). However if you're ripping into MP3s or some other lossy format it's probably not worth bothering with it and just stick with WMP. If you are ripping in lossless and want perfect rips via EAC, check out these two tutorials;

EAC Setup Guide

EAC Ripping Guide

If you're going the MP3 route then double check your ripping settings in WMP and try again. Check the disk for defects and make sure they're clean - don't ever use normal rags or paper towels to remove dirt/fingerprints from the bottom of a CD! In that case, I'd recommend a decent microfiber cloth.

Wouldn't  Allow me to Rip at all, gives the following error

I already checked the settings

tried sfc/scan now

chkdsk /f

and system restore

Nothing

Only other option I guess is a complete Windows 8.0 clean install, store upgrade to 8.1/update 1, and reloading everything--(Image didn't work for some reason, not sure why)

I get that popup on each CD I try to rip with Windows media player 12

Have Never used ITunes, won't let me change the Directory at all already tried that, will look at the permissions for the music folder, and go from there

Hit Change, and doesn't do nothing at all

Any other ideas are Welcome, willing to do a clean install if need to if it comes to that, just hope it lets me Download Windows 8.0 iso again, as original flash drive is dead lol

Avast shows o infections

malwarebytes show 0 infections

sfc/scannow show o intergrity violations on last run

chkdsk finished fine with no issues

really confused on what cause this error, how to fix it, without restoring to full clean install

Thank Thank Thank you Pop Pop Ret--Fixed!! right away, somehow had Two C:\Music folders in that list, once I removed that, immediately started working

One was C:\users\username\music, and unavailable for some reason, and other was in same area, but Default and available, removed unavailable one, and it fixed instantly

Is the Music folder really in the root C:\Music?

I think Windows restricts access to the OS root, could be the cause of the problem.

Folder should be c:\users\username\music

nvm was solved when i was typing this in DOH!
