Anyone with both a Xbox One and PS4?

The only thing I noticed was distant scenery, things like powerlines could be screen further away without becoming a broken jagged line.

Aliasing and jaggies are the biggest issue i have with graphics on some X1 games, less apparent on PS4. I can't say i have too much time with same-game comparisons on the two, but Forza 5 has lots of aliasing and flickering surfaces like fences, while Rivals on PS4 had none of that, and was a much more dynamic design to boot.

Distant scenery flickering and clipping through each other seems to be a common issue on modern games in general. A good example is riding the elevator to the roof above the 3rd objective in Siege on Shanghai in BF4, look around at the streets below and the concrete textures go crazy flicking through each other in certain places, seen this happen on all 3 platforms. It even happened at 2560x1400 when I played BioShock Infinite on PC. Taking a moment to admire the distant floating neighbourhoods in the scenery.

I just use an ipad to browse while playing a game (If I'm looking for guides or tips on how to pass something), too much effort using a controller to type and I don't like having a keyboard lying around just to type in web addresses. As for snapping TV I couldn't play without sound and I wouldn't expect anyone to watch TV without sound either so snapping tv over a game wouldn't work for me. The PS4 has the remote play via the PS Vita where you can play your PS4 games while someone else uses the TV but that wouldn't work for me either as the screen is too small I'd rather just get another tv.

Was the differences between COD on X1 and PS4 very noticeable or just slightly?

I mostly use voice for all of my browser use on the Xbox One, and everything is in my favorites and synced. I don't like to bother with my secondary devices like my iPad, Smartphone or Vita. It's so nice and convenient to have it on my screen snapped. If I must do something that I don't want to do in the snap, I can just use my Macbook Air that is generally near me.

I have the game sound and TV sound on when snapped. I change the volume on the game or the snapped app (TV, music, etc) to be higher or lower, depending on our mood and how involved I am in the game, or how involved she is in the TV. Works out wonderfully for us.

I have both as well.. Bought the PS4 at launch, then bought the Xbox One a few weeks after launch.. I find myself not really playing either one of them.. I bought Titanfall, played it for about 10 minutes.. I played the alpha and beta version of Titanfall though when they had those preview weekends.. Dead Rising got old, Forza 5 is a joke, I actually traded that game in towards Titanfall.. Madden 25 for the Xbox One, it's pretty fun.. I have other games, but don't really remember what all they are.. Ah, one is BF4.. Which I really can't stand playing.. It's more of a personal thing I guess..

The PS4 gets the most use.. Call of Duty Ghost.. Played NFS Rivals all the way through and still play it from time to time.. Tomb Raider is a lot of fun.. I might buy Putty because my wife use to play that game and says it is fun.. Also, the Pinball arcade game is a lot of fun..

I plan on getting Watchdogs for the PS4 as well as Drive Club.. I don't see any titles that I want to buy for Xbox One at this time..

I own both. I bought a PS4 day one, and then my girlfriend surprised me with a day one Xbone for Christmas.

Though, I haven't played much of anything on any of my consoles or PC as of late; I definitely got more use out of my PS4 so far.

Hi,

I have completed the game on 360, xboxone and the ps4, my son plays it occasionally on the PS3 (as non of his mates have ps4's yet). The game looks stunning in certain parts on each of the consoles.

I remember that escaping on the ice in the jeep and the bit with the tanks got very laggy on the xbox one. I don't remember it being a problem on the 360 though. (I did play it after the higher resolution updates were applied).

I would say that it looks and feels better to play on the ps4. The textures looks more detailed, draw distance is better and there are no noticeable slow-downs at any point, it feels more responsive too.

That is true, it's likely a side effect of artists trying to cram more detail than the code can comfortably handle...or something, no software engineer here! On Forza i find it especially egregious as it's literally the top half of the screen, even the solid lines along the road go jaggy crazy when turning. But then this is very subjective, showed the game to a colleague and he said it looked amazing. When asked if it looked better than Forza 4 (last one he played) he answered hell yeah. To me solid graphics are better than high res graphics. I will reluctantly settle for lower res if you provide no flicker, no pop in, no visible fill, etc. Those are distracting, as someone who really likes to stop and look at everything the artists have done and appreciate it all.

Thanks for the response. I was considering picking up an X1 and maybe getting some multiplatform games on it to justify the purchase but I'll stick to PS4 for multiplatform for now. Maybe once X1 gets a few good exclusives will eventually get one.
