I was looking to getting some new case fans for my computer and i was looking for something that is very quiet but also provides great cooling . I was looking at http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835226043 but don't know anything about how reliable the brand and in particular that fan would be. any advice that can be given would be greatly appreciated or if you think there is a better option then feel free to post that for me too. Thanks

Get Noctua fans and never look back. I found CoolerMaster fans to be good as well. With 2 x 200mm fans, top and front, it pushes a lot of air with little sound set at low. My GPU and CPU fans are louder than it.

What case do you have?

I don't think any high performing fan is anywhere near as silent as claimed by the manufacturer/retailer in all honesty.

Silverstone would get my vote as I have 4 of them in my HTPC with no issues for the past 1.5 years. The HDD's are louder in acoustic management mode.

Antec fans aren't bad either but 92mm and above tend to develop noise issues if ran at low RPM for a few months (I have had success RMAing them as a result though).

Sunon are LOUD. They are however, very reliable in high temperature and server environments and seem to have the lifespan of a galopodos giant tortoise.

Delta fans: see Sunon but swap lifespan with that of an average hamster.

Whispertec if they are even still going are far from what they claim, avoid.

Hello,

I have used several of Silenx' case fans in the last 3-4 computer builds I did, and they did the job of both keeping the PCs cool and keeping them quiet.  This was with the SilenX iXtrema Pro Quiet Fan IXP-76-14 and EFX-12-12 120mm Effizio Quiet Case Fan, though, which are a little different than the model you picked.

I went with noctua for my new build and I have to say, well worth the cost. These fans are amazing at not only design, but the ability to push air, especially in ultra quiet mode. I second this suggestion

Not sure if this is too late to reply, but Corsair's AF series fans are pretty good too.

I've currently got 3 AF140's in my PC, they spend most of their time spinning at 800RPM and they run silently. Definately the quietest fans I have used for a PC build thus far.

If you go for the retail version AF140's they also have rubberised corners to reduce vibration.

Noctua. Expensive but great performance, and quiet. I'm using a Fractal Design R4 case with 4x140mm Noctua fans and 1x120mm Noctua fan. The computer is very quiet even using the highest setting on the fan controller, which is built into the case.
