[UK]Car with Best Interior

Recommended Posts

Hi All, I am looking at a new car and I wanted to know what your opinions were on the car with the best Interior. I was looking for a more chunky cockpit kind of interior. The kind you might find on the Insignia's and higher end Audis.

If you like the ergonomics of Volkswagen-Audi Group products, have at look at Bentleys. They're pretty swish on the inside and well nailed together. The Porsche Cayenne and Panamera have well rated interiors too.

The Lamborghini Aventador is probably as chunky as you're going to find, but might be a little bit fighter jet if you want a sedate place to be.

Come to think of it, all of the above are VW-Audi products.

What kind of car are you looking for, and at what price point? Audi is alright, I think overrated. Their layout drives me crazy, but their fit and finish is decent. The new Mercedes E & S class are amazing, check those out. The new C class looks excellent too. KInd of a difficult question without any price brackets...

I would go for one of the Range Rovers

Range Rover = unreliable heaps of junk that is purely good for nothing except status symbols apparently. I equate this with people who buy Beats headphones.

Way to be informative OP, give us an actual price point. Notice all the vast varieties of responses you're getting?

Your comment = broad, generic and unhelpful. they can't all be "unreliable heaps of junk" of people wouldn't buy them

and for the record, I have Westone W3 earphones not Beats so I don't buy items for the 'status symbol'

Don't know about the latest models, but ask any mechanic about the older models and they'll tell you precisely that: "unreliable heaps of junk". My family had a Land Rover. Nice to sit in and drive, excellent for the old ego if you like to look rich (protip: if you have a bit of mud on it, everyone thinks you bought it for it's off-road capabilities, rather than as a status symbol), not so nice on the wallet. Them repairs get real pricey.

Driving one is sorta like flying a Blackbird: Looks cool but at anything under Mach 3, various fluids leak absolutely everywhere. And Land Rover's don't do Mach 3 so they leak fluids all the time. Just ask our garage floor which had the mother of all oil stains on it.

jaguar land rover are a much better company now than they were event  years ago... nice cars, but significantly out of your price range i would imagine

With regards to your budget, give us a figure.... "Audi/Subaru" is meaningless, Audi A1 can be specced up for under ?20k and an R8 over ?100k it's a nothing statement...

Says someone who doesnt know anybody with a Range Rover.

I have 2 friends that have RR and both are always in the shop, which is pretty much par for the course.

The one person, doesnt care because she always gets a free loaner car - she buys a new RR every 2--3 years.

The other person, bought one because of the other person, and that person cant believe a $90,000 truck can be so unreliable.

These are common for those cars - its for people who dont know any better.

For that amount of money - I'd get a G-wagen

Yes, I posted a reply and it seems to be missing, oh well. The jist of it is yes, LR brand is very unreliable. No one buys them really for reliability or true off-roading. The majority buy them because they are status symbols. Like you say, you're better off buying a Mercedes G class. You get Mercedes like interior, which is awesome, and really the only way to get it is in the AMG model. The G63 out powers any Range Rover and the G65 is even more ridiculous (sadly not available in USA)

Because if you had any experience with the brand and its horrendous track record - the numbers suggest you would know they are among the most unreliable luxury cars there are.  I say "the numbers suggest" because odds are you would talk to this person who owns the RR, and chances are the topic of their pathetic reliability would have to come up - I say "chances" and "odds" because I dont know who or what you know, so I use probability- but most people know that RR are junk.  Heck even the UK-centric TopGear make jokes about them.

So, one would could safely assume that when a person who says "hey get a RR, they are nice !" - its probable that person doesn't know, thats all.
