Ice_Blue
As the topic title states, how do I disable the vibrate/haptic feedback on the soft buttons. It annoys me no end. Phone is a generic Android with stock Jelly Bean 4.2.2 ROM (rooted). I am able to disable it on the keypad, but I have gone through every menu/submenu and I cannot find any option to do this systemwide. I know there are apps to do this (like SpareParts+), but it returns on reboot.

Ice_Blue
http://bit.ly/1pfPlNI I posted this after a lot of googling. None of the solutions I found worked. Hence my post.

Should do it as there should be options to turn off vibrate and sound when a key is pressed. Draconian Guppy 1 Share

This setting disables the feedback on the keypad/keyboard only. I would like to disable the vibrate/haptic feedback system wide. Most of the solutions I saw while googling mention the keyboard setting, but I already did that. Thanks for the suggestion, though.

Ice_Blue
Settings/Sound. Uncheck Vibrate on touch. My phone has Settings/Audio Profiles. No option in there to disable vibrate though. From what I've seen on google, my version of Jelly Bean may simply not have that setting. Right now, I'm using an app I found on the Play Store called Haptic Switch. It's a simple toggle switch that works. All of the apps I've used, though, do not keep the setting after a reboot. It's a shame that such a simple setting is so difficult to implement, at least on my phone.

Hum
Since the phone has been rooted, that disable setting may be gone.

If he applied a diff ROM, then that may have done it. Ice_Blue 1 Share
Ice_Blue
What phone do you have? Stock JB should have that setting. It's a BLU unlocked handset I bought on Amazon. It has a Mediatek MTK 6572 chipset. The phone works beautifully otherwise, though.

techbeck
I'll try to post a screenshot. Gonna be a little while though (half hour approx.). That is fine. I am going offline for a few hrs anyway. So someone else will probably have the answer by the time I get back. :)
TAZMINATOR
Don't forget that some carriers have different settings and different layout based on what they want to provide to their customers. And I agree with techback about having a different ROM that might have removed that option. Since OP is on stock ROM. it might be glitch or messed up. Try to reset your phone and start over and see if helps... then you can restore your apps back in. If you get vibrate feedback all over again, then it might be one of the apps screwed it up. Ice_Blue
I figured it out: If I select the "General" profile, the haptic feedback stops. With the "Outdoor" profile selected, the haptic feedback is enabled regardless of the "vibrate on touch" setting. Thanks to everyone for their help. Ice_Blue
Can't you customize each individual profile? The only customisable profile is "General". All the others are, as far as I can tell, system presets, and uncustomisable. New profiles can also be created.

New profiles can also be created. So the volume/vibrate controls are under the specific profiles then. Odd. Dont remember JB having it that way. May be possible Blu edited things a bit.
