McAfee Personal Firewall Plus 5.0

Question

Hi!

I have major problems using McAfee Personal Firewall Plus 5.0 with my Abit NF7-S2.0 mainboard (NForce2 Ultra400) bulit in ethernet adapter. When I connect to the internet, I get random disconnections when using McAfee Personal Firewall Plus 5.0. I have tried McAfee Firewall 4, which works 100%, but as I hold a license to McAfee Personal Firewall Plus 5.0 and not Firewall 4, I wanna use McAfee Personal Firewall Plus 5.0.

Is there anyone else who has these problems? I have installed a PCI No-Name Ethernet adapter, and with this adapter, internet works 100% with McAfee Personal Firewall Plus 5.0.

I connect to the Internet through a Fibreoptic cable at 2 Mbit.

Any suggestions?

Yes there is. http://forums.mcafeehelp.com/index.php?sid...b08303bc17c6c22

To be honest though McAfees firewall sucks. It pales compared to Norton, and isn't as good as most of the free firewalls either. Most users prefer the old firewall (V4) to this new one just like most users prefer McAfee's Virus scan 7 to VS8.

McAfee took a step back this year with all thier products.

Yeah, McAfee anti-virus 8 is good, but their firewall isn't when compared to ZoneAlarm, Keiro or Norton. Of course, he didn't ask for another product, he asked for help.

I still stick by my response. Go to their support FORUMS. Forums are a lot faster than e-mail.

I do have one suggestion: trust the DNS/DHCP servers. I don't know how/what is called in Mcafee, but in ZoneAlarm it would be "put the DNS/DHCP servers in the trusted zone".
