Hi guys  ,

Home folder is a new feature added to Windows 10 Tech Preview. It shows favorite folders, most frequently accessed folders and recently accessed files. I found this is very bad  and I think same for many other people also. It may lead to privacy issue. So I got one solution for this annoyance.

Here is the solution:

Step 1:

Go to Regedit->HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\HomeFolder\NameSpace\DelegateFolder

Step 2:

Take a backup of the Home folder.

Step 3:

Now you will find three 3 Keys for Frequent,Recent and Favorite folder. Now delete which folder you want to remove from home folder.

Now exit from Regedit and go to Home folder, you will see modified Home Folder :woot: .

The "Home Folders" is a pilfering - directly from Finder in OS X - married to the existing view that has been in Windows Explorer (and in File Manager before that) since the beginning of Windows itself.  If this is a security issue in File Explorer (and it can be) then Finder (OS X) has the same issue.  Is the fix there as elegant as yours?  (However, if I'm not mistaken, that home view will be different for each individual user with an account/profile.)

Or just

Right-Click Taskbar\Start Menu Tab and untick the second checkbox under Privacy group will do the same thing. :)

I hate the Home folder.

Just when I was learning to get used to Favorite folders, they change the usability design in a year. How can I go straight to This PC instead of that moronic Home folder when I click on File Explorer?

Sorry?

They have been in Windows since Vista.

Vista was out 8 years ago.

Guys, instead of doing hacks, send feedback for this to be in the settings for the Home folder.

Hah!  Shush with your logic and sense.

Also, lock your damn PC if you care about privacy. If they're at a point where they can view your home folder there's already been a major breach in your security.
