Pre Windows 7 DOS Like OS

I hope someone can help me here.

 

I'm trying to remember the name of the DOS Like OS from Microsoft Pre-Windows 7.

 

I remember that in those days the rumours was about an strimed down version, just the kernel.

 

The problem is that I don't remember the name and I would to search a video of that OS booting from those days.
