busdude
The First computer i ever saw was an Apple IIe that was wheeled into my second grade classroom. Later on in elementary school we had an Apple II lab where they were all networked. The first computer i ever owned was an old IBM Clone 286. That lasted about a week before it died completely and i got my Packard Bell 486 the following X-mas. As a side note, i have one of the old 5.25 floppy drives from that 286 in my current computer - an AMD Athalon 1.2 with 786mb ram and Win2k. I bet that floppy drive never thought it would live to see the day... Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/124200-the-first-computer-i-ever-used/page/2/#findComment-1483099 Share on other sites

snippet1
My first was a Micro-Dot branded 286, with DOS 6.2. After about a year (I think) we upgraded it to a 386 with a colour screen (the old one was green mono) and Windows 3.1. Ahh, I remember those old apps - Chuck Yeager's Air Combat, PFS First Choice, Dosshell, BoA (mouse game - mmm - must go download from siomewhere...). And I still remember all the commands! Well, most. Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/124200-the-first-computer-i-ever-used/page/2/#findComment-1483172 Share on other sites

ergo:kris
My first was a good ol' commodore 64, having to put the game into the tape deck and WAIT for half an hour for the game to load, then you would only play it 10 minutes then change it. +BeLGaRaTh Subscriber¹ Posted December 17, 2003 Subscriber¹ Share Posted December 17, 2003 First computer I used was an RML380Z ... It had a 2mhz processor, a whopping 16k of RAM, a massive 40x24x2 resolution (80x24x2 hi-res :)), and used single sided 5.25'' floppies ... Gambit MEM
My first computer was an Apple 2 with 32K of memory. I paid $100 to upgrade it to 48K of memory. I remember my first 2 games I played on that system were Ultima 1 and Wizardry 1. Man has technology come a long way since then!
