Alright! The new language system is operational and soon to be released. That means that in the next build you'll always have the most up to date language file inside c:\Program Files (x86)\Dopamine\Languages and will be able to create custom languages by adding custom language files under C:\Users\You\AppData\Roaming\Dopamine\Languages.

The only issue with this on the mini player, with this enabled the currently playing song is on the bottom of the list. So you need to scroll to see what's next up.

yep. Known issue which has been annoying me since the musiX days. Basically the ScrollIntoView function of the WPF ListBox is lazy. It scrolls down or up until it finds the item you request, but does nothing more. As with a lot of things, I'll have to create my own workaround.

Hey guys,

I have a good idea: what about an auto update function?! :woot: J/K, I read your posts of course, and you have a valid point. I'll try to get this up and running asap.

ShareX auto updates nicely...

Great for them! :D

I assume it asks for elevation at some point? Otherwise I don't see how it would update its files under program files.

Tonight was productive

I create an automatic packager which automates creating the installers (including a portable package). I did this manually until now, and it cost me some time.

Soon it'll upload the packages automatically to their download location too.

Congratulations... Excellent app... Any intention to developing the application on ModernUI version? For a player music would be interesting to let playing with the locked screen. Desktop apps are all suspended.

I'd like to create a Universal App. But at the moment I have my hands full with this one. When the desktop version is more feature rich, I might work on 2 versions in parallel.

The Dopamine packager. You'll never see it. But it is the final step to a portable version and the first step to automatic updates.

I just noticed. You registered to say this? Much appreciated :)

One thing I forgot to mention, but it was from an earlier build and may not be applicable now, but how clean in the uninstaller? I remember I ran this some time back (I know, the horrors!), but it didn't remove the files in the Users/Appdata/Dopamine folder.

That's correct. The uninstaller uninstalls everything that it installed , meaning: the folder in program files, registrey keys, start menu shortcuts. The files in appdata are created by dopamine after it is started. These are not removed after uninstall.

So to uninstall dopamine:

- run the uninstaller

- delete the Dopamine folder in appdata

- have a beer

Raphael I have a feature that's different.

Song stream share. might require users to share an account of some sort.

say your Raphael001 I'm Chrisj1968. you can add users to a list in dopamine and you can stream my albums if you see an album you like from my system and I can stream listen in to a album you have that I like. Of course not copying the actual songs just listening to them, in a sort of radio station fashion.

Windows media center can do it to where I can stream my collection to my work (if I were working). so it is legal. as long as the songs aren't being transferred from your to my PC

here's a simple mockup (please forgive the font) look to the right of now playing. my idea was, somehow we create a simple account if you can create some sort of server of users. now with some ISP's, our IP addresses like mine change so,

if  ilog in daily to that account, allow it to refresh with my new or current IP and we users through neowin can share via messaging or somehow our account name and another user can click stream which will then ask the user if they would like to stream their collection. click yes/no. if yes, then my collection will be playable from user X on their dopamine and can search through my collection to play what they like. this way no songs are transferred which doesn't breach MPAA rules because I can stream my music with WMP from MSFT already. just a thought. perhaps a large untertaking but put it on your list of a larger task to complete in the future in time? or if we all login to your system or "a" central system, click on stream, the screen under stream lists users already logged in and we can select user(s) and request permission to stream their music. just an idea. I realize a massive undertaking but is it workable?

mock up of the request (sorry not perfect but in concept)

Maybe legal when you're streaming your own media to yourself, but I highly doubt it when you're letting everyone else listen. If it were wouldn't there already be a load of others already out there that let you listen to random people's music as you please? When you're streaming the songs are still being transferred from one device to the other. It wouldn't be hard to simply save whatever is coming through.

Unfortunately I think you are correct - to legally stream music you need a license, even retail stores need a license to play music to its customers whilst in store and I think this would include this.

The only thing I'm not 100% on is, most streaming licenses talk about profit to help decide what kind of license you need whereas this would be seen as non profit.

with WMP, whose to say that people don't share their IP's with co workers already? businesses like Microsoft had to thought up what you both have in that regard. nothing stopping people from sharing your IP address to stream from your home system.. just saying
