Microsoft Office Word 2013 text selection color issue

Hi,

 

Recently, I've notice that in Word 2013, whenever I select texts, the selection color is black. If I remember correctly, the color is suppose to be a light grey. PowerPoint seems to have the color correct while Word 2013 doesn't. What is causing this?

I somehow don't have Office 2013, but I see what you mean in 2010. I can reproduce the black selection highlight if I select the High Contrast theme (oh god, my eyes) in Windows 8 - have you by any chance modified the visual style, or installed a uxtheme/uxstyle-like modification?

I don't have any modify theme installed. I recently did a refresh and reinstalled office, however the issue still persists.

Weird problem. Tried switching to high contrast and back to the default theme, just for kicks?

 

I guess the re-installation should take care of any system-level issues, but have you tried checking whether you see this under a new user account?

Each program have own color...  look at the app title.  Word has black...  PowerPoint has gray.

 

Especially the colored tabs each program...  blue tab, red  tab...

Here I am two years later with the same problem. This is probably the 6th forum thread I've looked at.
Y'all were jerks! And you obviously didn't understand the issue the guy was having. I hope you felt really intelligent posting useless information for link6155

Try deleting your normal.dot re-open and see what it’s like

afaik, selection color is system driven.  I would try zhangm's suggestion or Dan~'s.
