The new Nvidia Shield is the 'world's first 4K Android TV console

This device is twice as powerful as xbox 360. There is definitely a fourth console in town.

Nvidia just announced an Android gaming console. The latest Shield (previous entries include a gaming tablet and before that an all-in-one game controller plus screen) is the "world's first 4K Android TV console." The device itself is thin and sports the familiar sharp design aesthetic (with green glow). It supports decoded 4K video at 60Hz. The Shield will launch in May for $199, game controller included, alongside the company's new Grid game-streaming service.

The non-gaming bluetooth remote ("Shield remote") looks fairly minimal and features a "one click, one touch voice search" (

And has ten times worse games.

No, it has many of the same games. That include Crysis 3 (yes it runs Crysis), Borderland the Pre-sequal and other AAA titles. NVidia grid lets you stream many top notch games at 1080p 60FPS as well,

yeah, so it has a few recent games, that were already available on many other platforms.    a few.        look how many games xbox 360 has?      so why buy this, when you can just get 360?

i see the potential in future, and it is great, but for now it's very very limited use for gamers.

how many game did 360 has when it was launched?? This is a great alternative with games and console priced lower and higher graphics

Streaming does NOT equal having the same games.

with 360 or ps3 you pretty much had a garantee that most serious video game deleopers will HAVE to develop for it if they want success in console market.

this guarantee now applies to ps4 and xOne.

i seriously doubt that every developer will just on this, unless it reaches wide adoption, and it is not likely to reach wide adoption, if the delevopers don't jump to it.

(kinda like windows phone of the smartphone world, it might be good, it might make sense, but it is unlikely to catch up with the market numbers)
