Your chart actually confirms what the "fud spreading hater" wrote. According to the chart an enormous chunk of market share is, in fact, because of IE 8. AFAIK, the author didn't say that IE 8 had the largest market share.

he's misleading you into believing internet explorer is irrelevant, whereas the latest version of IE is top dog.

Well he's certainly not misleading me. I don't think IE is irrelevant, especially not IE 11. It's an awesome web browser and I love both the Modern UI and the desktop versions in Windows 8.1.
