Well this solves the mystery of why I had a newer Nvidia driver version than the one on their website.

Every once and a while the driver crashes, so hopefully they get that sorted out soon.  When it runs, it runs well though.

Let us know if (and when) they will get it fixed.

I'm OK with it being on by default, and even stripped out of the OOBE. I'm not OK with it being forced without any option to disable it. I'm aware of the tool, but many others will never be. Granted, most of these users will require automatic updates, but some will not want it for a variety of reasons. They could have just left an 'advanced settings' switch for it.

Grateful I get the Pro version for free rather than the Home version.

If you're running Windows 10 Home, I don't know what you're doing on a site like Neowin.

Thank you.  If you're running Windows 10 Home, or any Home version of an OS, the only sites you probably visit are Facebook, Yahoo, and Instagram.

I run both because I got 8 Pro cheap twice, but there's absolutely nothing in Pro that I need.

So mostly I'm here to confuse you, apparently. ;)

^^ You will not be able to revert to an earlier driver version if the driver offered via Windows update breaks compatibility with your old favorite game. You will have to run the Microsoft tool to block that specific driver update. But once another newer version of same driver is released to Windows Update, it will download and again replace your existing driver. So you would have to use the same tool and keep on blocking every newer versions of driver updates. Until you get fed up of this constant manual blocking and give in to Microsofts forced way of updating. You can also stop playing slightly older games and only play those games which Nvidia or AMD are actively optimizing.

Oh,yes,be happy with your CBB despite you could avoid any penalties from the start with CB. (Home)

The days of Pro & its fellas has passed out many long time ago.

But nah, there are old-fashion users among us.

A co-worker and I looked up this specific issue, and Microsoft & NVidia worked together to get it resolved. My system at home works 100% like it did in 7. At first the driver wasn't being downloaded, it wasn't until I tried to install the Nvidia software that it worked.

I'm not a huge fan about the updates, but I give windows 10 a 9/10 for rating.

Do you mean that WU's NVIDIA graphic driver update issue has been solved?

The research my coworker Alec and I did, showed that it was fixed already. NVidia already released the fixed version. 353.62 was the fixed version for it, at least they say this is the version that it'll be fixed in. Let me grab some links.

Edit:

This was directly related to the Multi-Monitor support, if theres something else thats wrong, then I don't know. Also, my Windows 10 won't let me change resolutions :(

I'm happy with automatic updates.

And with my enterprise hat on, SCCM/WSUS/SCUP does that in a managed way so it's still a non-issue.

Sounds like a NVIDIA problem.

It is.

I may have to retract my original statement about the fix. I'm restarting my PC to see if the problem is truly fixed. Will post an update.

Huh? I bought a desktop with windows 8 on it and it upgraded to windows 10 home. I'm sorry if that  doesn't qualify me to be on the same site as you...

Seems as if Windows 10 itself is rejecting the Microsoft driver. I restarted, and it told me I had to re-download it. i was stuck in 800x600. :(

Most users on here aren't running Windows Home Edition, we run the highest available. Also, almost all of us are tech geeks, we do a lot of different things.

What he's saying is; If you're on this site, you must be a techie, if that's the case, why are you on Home and not Pro?

personally out of the ton of computers I have it seems a bit silly to spend that much to get pro on them all (and so far from what I've been hearing on 10 Pro's update options it's not turning out to be all that good anyway).
