I'm in the market for a new PC for the first in 5 years. I plan on getting a Dell or an HP. I have a couple questions:

1) Should I get an i3 or an i5? The primary uses of the system would be browsing, streaming, Office, and some occasional/light video and audio editing. No gaming.

I was thinking an i5 might be more than I need now. But since I want to keep the system for 4-5 years, I might be glad later on to have gotten the i5. Am I right?

The i3 would be a 4170 or a 4350. The i5 would be a 4460.

2) Given my needs, would integrated graphics (i.e Intel 4600 HD) be sufficient for the next few years?

I would always say go the i5. Even if you don't use the extra processing power now, it will be better in the long run. The quad cores of the i5 will definitely outpace the dual core i3 when audio/video editing.

Intel HD video is pretty decent for most tasks these days (even light gaming for older titles), so the 4600 should work for you well. However depending on what video editing suite you want to use, it may support GPU processing as well, so if you had a dedicated GPU in the machine, your performance would be even better.

Integrated 4600 HD would be sufficient for normal non gaming usage, my zenbook pro uses it to preserve power (also has a nvidia 960m) and it's able to show videos and websites fine on my 4k display.
