Success !!!! I re-installed Windows 7 (factory image), got over 200 updates, which I guess was a waste of time. Then I followed the link from Gabe Aul to download and install Windows 10...and magic...all went well. My copy of Windows 10 is now activated. I do not know if I will take the chance of doing a Clean install, since the computer only had Windows 7 on it when I downloaded Windows 10. Thanks to everyone who offered suggestions Mike

Thanks guys for the replies. I have re-installed Windows 7 Home Premium to the Dell laptop, and it shows activated. I also  downloaded over 200 updates. Now if I understand what you are all telling me, is that I can go to the link below, and choose the  (Download tool now 32 bit version), and then choose UPGRADE this computer, like I did the first time ? Then Windows 10 should be installed and activated. Then if I want I can do a CLEAN install with the DVD I already created.  Thanks again, Mike

What I'd like to know is why the heck you have a 32-bit system instead of a 64-bit one. 64-bit is a much better platform.

Success here too, Windows is activated, however what I would like to find out is: am I as a Windows Insider entitled to Windows 10 Pro? I ended up with Windows 10 Home after upgrading from Windows 8, the path I followed was downloading the Upgrade Tool from MS and just upgrading with the "Remove Everything" option, but the tool installed Home instead of Pro, ( because my computer originally had Windows 8 Home I guess) however since MS had allowed me to upgrade to Pro Final with the Insider Program is there a way for me to get Pro now or do I have to stay in Home version which is a pita?

I chose the 32 bit, because I thought I had to. Windows 7 that was on the computer was a 32 bit.

Ew...if your computer comes with 32-bit OS, it means it's a bad computer or a very old one. 0 pre-built computers are 32-bit anymore.
