Luke88
Hello, I have recently upgraded to Windows 10 via an upgrade, everything is fine but I am no longer able to use my DVD drive. The drive is recognized in Device Manager and shows as working correctly, but when trying to burn a disc iTunes nor CDBurnerXP will recognize the drive. I have tried different media to rule out this being the issue. I have tried checking Windows update and checking for driver updates via device manager but it shows that I am already using the latest version. I have tried Googling the drive manufacturer but am unable to find anything official online. The drive is a TSSTcorp CDDVDW TS-U633F and is an internal laptop drive. Any suggestions? MaverickVA
Have you tried removing the drive in Device Manager and then doing a restart?
MaverickVA
Also, this may help. https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/929461
nekrosoft13
Also, this may help. https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/929461 that is the biggest reason for that type of issues. it happens when your have disc copying/recording software that is not supported by current operating system. remove faulty filters, and your drive will appear and work again, but your disc copying/recording software might stop working. best is to use software that doesn't require stupid filters to operate. Open Minded
Had this problem on my GF's computer. I had to download a Vista registry fix and that took care of it. LaP
Yeah Open Minded is right more than likely a LowerFilters or UpperFilters problem created by DRM or 3rd party AV.
Luke88
Thanks all. I amended the registry as mentioned above, reinstalled CDBurnerXP and iTunes, rebooted and is now working fine
