Anybody else notice a scrolling, barely visible, watermark that goes across the startmenu that says windows insider? It only appears on the computer that I have opted in for the windows insider program obviously. I just happened to catch a glimpse of it, and thought I was going crazy at first. On my system it seems to take 20 seconds for it to complete a "lap", and it is travelling from right to left. This is on a system that was upgraded from Windows 7, and is fully activated. It is too light to actually get a picture of it.

It's there, it is in the background, slightly lighter than what the color of the start menu background is. Look closely at the bottom of the start menu and you may see a vertical line that is scrolling along with it. The watermark is after the line and higher, there is also a diagonal line up higher. I have mine set to dark gray, it is very easy to miss.

Ok, I actually believe it is scrolling across the background of the desktop, but is visible through the start menu. I say this because when I logged off, I could see it on the logoff screen. I've taken a bunch of pictures and a video of it, so far this is the best picture I could snap of it - Sorry it is so crappy, but it is the best I could do so far with how light the watermark is. You can kind of make it out on the right hand side.

After getting home, I checked out a couple of my other computers, and wasn't able to duplicate this "feature". I'm starting to think that I ran into / uncovered a weird bug. This system was an upgrade from 7, then after activation I replaced the hard drive and did a fresh install of 10. I recently had an issue with pinned items not showing in the start menu, and was able to pin a second calculator to the start menu. One is small, the other medium. Unpinned items wouldn't always disappear, and if I moved the "unpinned" tile, the start menu would crash. The crazy part is, the crazy scrolling I'm a windows insider would survive system reboots. I'll have to run a sfc /scannow against it tomorrow.

Ran both SFC /scannow and Dism, both found corruption that couldn't be fixed, so since I had an issue with the start menu, decided to do a fresh install from the ISO I had. Reinstalled, updated, didn't see the "Watermark", enabled insider builds, installed Hyper-v, then suddenly the watermark was back again. This time, it was lower than before. It was then, I realized what was happening. I'm running 2 computers through an IOgear GCS72U KVM switch, the second computer has a few different I'm a Windows Insider Wallpapers set as a slideshow (That is why only one was showing the scrolling text / image) The KVM switch isn't fully isolating the video signals, and is overlaying the images. That was crazy for sure.
